Help Needed!!!

The International Rose Test Garden is celebrating its 100th Anniversary on August 26, 2017.

The Portland Parks Department has asked OSA to help them celebrate by providing plein air painters and painting opportunities for kids all day long on Saturday, August 26th, in the Rose Garden, Washington Park.

We have several plein air painters,  but we need volunteers to help with the children's drawing and painting table. Portland Parks is expecting 5000+ visitors between 11am and 6:30pm.

If you can help with the kids' art table for a 2-4 hour shift on August 26th, please contact Brooks Hickerson at brooks.hickerson@gmail.com or 541-520-1423.

You will be handing out OSA information as well as helping kids with their drawing and painting.

Plein Air this Summer at OSA

Be sure to check the Oregon Society of Artists website for class offerings and paintouts this summer. Classes with Nancy Klos and Steve Kleier are listed or check your email.   Painting locations are usually around the Portland Metropolitan area.

Summer in Portland at it's Finest

     Many of the OSA painters like to work outdoors in  Summer just up the hill at Washington Park.  We had a paint out this week with eight happy plein air painters in the rose garden. Every medium is a favorite; oil, acrylic, pastel, and watercolor.
     OSA President, Kris Kuster sends on the following reminders;

• Upcoming Juried Show for all active members. Take in Art Tuesday August 30th. from 10:00 to 4:00 2 pieces, $20 entry fee.
  Reception Sunday September, 4 from 1:00 to 4:00
