OSA Gallery News 200 for under $200 Show and Sale: Artwork Take-in and Reception information OSA Gallery Hours: Monday - Saturday, 1 - 4 pm daily  (excluding holidays) with opening receptions on Sunday afternoons and Friday evenings as announced in event listings   OSA Gallery exhibits and openings are free and open to the public. Visitors are welcome! 200 for under $200 Show and Sale November 2 - 27 Juror:  Liz Walker It's time for OSA's popular annual show of 200 works in all media and styles by OSA members and artists from the Portland area and beyond! Each piece is on a 12" x 12" wooden panel, and all are priced at or below $200.  This show increases in popularity each year, so don't miss the exhibit and opening reception!  It's the perfect opportunity to add a new favorite piece to your collection or find a holiday gift for any taste! Rose West, 2017 winner ART TAKE-IN Art Take-in Dates and Times: (open to artists who have registered and purchased panels) Tuesday, October 30,    10am to 4pm Wednesday, October 31,    10am to noon Please print and fill out the the required Artist Release Form before arriving at OSA with your artwork.  (Download the form using the link above, or go to download link at https://www.osartists.org/gallery/current-upcoming-exhibits#entryfees ) Remember, all panels must have D-rings and picture wire attached to the back, 4" down from the top. OPENING RECEPTION Opening Reception: Exhibit, Sale, Awards, Raffle, and Silent Auction! Friday, November 2,    6 - 8pm 6:00 pm: Doors open Paintings go on sale  Purchased paintings can be taken at time of purchase Raffle tickets go on sale * 6:50 pm: Awards Ceremony beings Raffle drawing immediately follows awards ceremony.  Ticket holders must be present to win. 8:00 pm: Silent Auction closes * Raffle tickets sold for $1 per ticket, 6/$5.  There are many great raffle items, as well as a silent auction for a few select items.  Ticket holders must be present to win!   Reception Parking: Overflow parking  will be available in the Town Club parking lot, (on the south side of Salmon Street across from 2115 SW Salmon) .  The lot will be open from 5:30- 8:00pm.  Please exit out the back of the parking lot.    VOLUNTEER! Art In The Pearl  is Portland’s premier annual arts festival, named one of the Top Ten Arts and Crafts Festivals in the country.  The 22nd annual festival in the North Park Blocks is free to attend with art, theater, music, and hands-on activities for all ages. OSA will be at the festival to promote our exhibits, classes, and workshops, with demonstrations by OSA artists and instructors.  This is a fantastic opportunity for us to to reach out to thousands of people and share who we are at OSA!   We still need helpers to volunteer to hand out  information about membership and our many offerings for artists and the public.   Spend a morning or afternoon in the park surrounded by art, and help spread the word about OSA! Help Needed!!!

Yellow Roses by Brooks Hickerson

The International Rose Test Garden is celebrating its 100th Anniversary on August 26, 2017.

The Portland Parks Department has asked OSA to help them celebrate by providing plein air painters and painting opportunities for kids all day long on Saturday, August 26th, in the Rose Garden, Washington Park.

We have several plein air painters,  but we need volunteers to help with the children's drawing and painting table. Portland Parks is expecting 5000+ visitors between 11am and 6:30pm.

If you can help with the kids' art table for a 2-4 hour shift on August 26th, please contact Brooks Hickerson at brooks.hickerson@gmail.com or 541-520-1423.

You will be handing out OSA information as well as helping kids with their drawing and painting.

Rose Festival 2017

Come one come all to the 2017 Rose Festival Art Show.

Members and non-members alike are invited to participate in this year’s 33rd Annual Rose Show.

This year, Chris Stubbs is our Juror in the following Categories:
Category 1: “Roses”
 Category 2 includes the Theme “Brilliant.”
 “Portland Scenes” and “Rose Festival Scenes”.

Please join me Jennifer Bliesner, at our first Committee Meeting for the Rose Show. As the chair this year, I would like to extend a warm welcome to returning members, and anyone new at OSA to the Rose Show committee meeting on May 4th from 1 – 3pm. No experience needed.This is a great opportunity to get to know the workings of OSA and serve the greater Portland art community.
