The Art of a Veteran
with Buck Braden 

December 5, 2019 | 6:30-8:30pm | FREE
Mr.Braden has been an artist and historian all of his life. Drawing figures, faces, horses and ships was the natural thing for him to do. He attended Fort Hays State University where he studied painting, printmaking, ceramics and design, and minored in history. Buck received his BA in 1969, then spent the next two years in the Army as an illustrator. He returned to Fort Hays where he taught Fundamentals of Art and Printmaking while he obtained a Masters in Art.

In this 2 day intensive and interactive workshop Lisa  will introduce the process of using oil and cold wax to create meaningful paintings through layering, textures, color, and visual storytelling. In addition to the  techniques of working in oils and cold wax medium, we will also cover the fundamentals of abstract art elements to help you evaluate your work.
Don't miss Lisa's FREE demonstration on December 12, 11am - 12pm. this demo will introduce the same principals as this workshop.

Scott Gellatly is an exhibiting landscape painter and Product Manager for Gamblin Artists Colors.

Join Scott Gellatly as he discusses his artistic process— from color theory and mixing to pigment characteristics and color strategies. Gellatly is an exhibiting landscape painter and Product Manager for Gamblin Artists Colors.

This daytime demonstration will introduce the same principals in Gellatly's workshop "Color + the Artist's Palette" the following weekend

IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING
with Peggie Moje

Working directly from life outdoors or in the studio, violinist/ painter Peggie Moje creates Impressionist painting that capture the illusive beauty of light and color. Moje's work has won prestigious awards, has been featured in a movie, and her relationship with Portland Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery Peggie Moje spans two decades.
