COLOR + ARTIST'S PALETTE with Scott Gellatly November 9-10, 2019 9:30am - 4pm Creating a personalized color voice is an important tool for the development of any painter. This 2-day workshop will explore interpreting color in reference material, simplifying subject matter, and abstracting a scene as the means to strengthening the composition and concept of a painting. Scott Gellatly is an exhibiting landscape painter and Product Manager for Gamblin Artists Colors.

OIL & COLD WAX with Lisa Mann December 14-15, 2019 9:30am - 4pm In this 2 day intensive and interactive workshop Lisa  will introduce the process of using oil and cold wax to create meaningful paintings through layering, textures, color, and visual storytelling. In addition to the  techniques of working in oils and cold wax medium, we will also cover the fundamentals of abstract art elements to help you evaluate your work.

EXPLORING COLOR IN EXPRESSIONIST OIL PAINTING with Scott Gellatly November 7, 2019 11am - 12pm This demonstration will explore interpreting color in reference material, simplifying subject matter, and abstracting a scene as the means to strengthening the composition and concept of a painting. This daytime demonstration will introduce the same principals in Gellatly's workshop "Color + the Artist's Palette" the following weekend Nov. 9-10, 2019.

EVENING DEMONSTRATION

IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING with Peggie Moje November 7, 2019 6:30 - 8pm Working directly from life outdoors or in the studio, violinist/ painter Peggie Moje creates Impressionist painting that capture the illusive beauty of light and color. Moje's work has won prestigious awards, has been featured in a movie, and her relationship with Portland Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery Peggie Moje spans two decades.

Create dynamic, textured patterns in your watercolor paintings by employing nontraditional techniques using plant materials, herbs, legumes, salt, stones and other elements. See how watercolor pigments react and leave beautiful patterns on your paper. The workshop will also emphasize composition and design principles. 

Day one: Prepare one-two more starts using a unique texturing process.

Day two: Lay down the foundation on two-four painting starts using plant materials, herbs, legumes, salt, stones and other elements observing how watercolor pigment react, leaving beautiful patterns on your paper.  If time allows, begin working on Day 1 starts

Day three: Work towards finishing one or two of your pieces.

Included in the cost of the Workshop:

• High-pigmented liquid watercolors of Robert Doak
