Join artist Kathryn Delany and explore how traditional art media translates to a digital world. Kathryn has focused on creating art using an iPad for the past 8 years. She will take you on a journey of how she develops one of her figurative Goddess pieces, from creating a drawing, making an interesting digital paper-collage background and incorporating everything into a final composition.
Kathryn has drawn and painted all her life. working in a variety of media, including colored pencils, pen and inks, soft pastel, acrylics and mixed media. Now all of that experience has coalesced into digital media. Kathryn invites you to bring your own iPad or tablet and follow along.

Basic Watercolor Class
The Very Basics of Watercolor
Steve Kleier
Tuesday September 5, 10-1pm
$25 drop in
This class is for those who want to start from the beginning with watercolor. We start with a brief discussion about colors, materials and set up. Then most of the class will be about controlling the paint and the fundamental techniques of watercolor handling. We will practice graded washes, dry brush, achieving lights and darks and other useful skills.
Unlike oil or acrylic paint that stays where you put it watercolor has a mind of its own. It is this quality of natural interaction between the pigments the water and the paper that give watercolor it's unique character and along with its beautiful transparency has made it so popular.
I have won many awards and have been a watercolor teacher for more than 10 years. I enjoy painting all subjects and a variety of techniques. Join me for fun and learning.
