MONOTYPE DEMONSTRATION with Stephen Hayes January 31, 2020 | 11am - 12pm Free and open to the public This year’s featured master printmaker and demoing artist is Stephen Hayes. Hayes is an internationally known landscape artist and printmaker.  He has held over thirty-five solo exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad, and his works have been curated into nearly seventy group shows by a broad diversity of curatorial voices.   He is locally represented by Elizabeth Leach.

The art of drawing is one of the simplest forms of human communication. Millennial in its traditions and still a favorite among artists for its line, tonal quality and textures. Now, since the advent of color pencil technology, the combination of colored pigments and wax and oil-based binders has opened up new medium breakthroughs from emerging students to advanced professionals. join us for an evening of Color Pencil on Exhibit.

Meet your instructor: Greg Lewis

Whether it's a design commission or consultation, art lecture, painting workshop, creating custom furnishings, designing a book cover, art show judging – even leading a customized art tour – Greg Lewis is ready to work on your project. Greg is celebrating 45+ years of creating contemporary art and fine art decor for clients in architecture, interior design, publishing, art collections, liturgical and healing environments.

In addition to his art and design studio practice, Greg taught drawing, painting, and watercolor studios for over two decades at Concordia University-Portland and was co-founder of its Art & Culture Program. He led tours of London and Paris for art and culture studies in art and architecture.  Greg holds degrees in Commercial Art/Graphic Design and in Visual Communications Education. Join us for this special demo when Max Ginsburg returns to OSA in February. Attendance at the demo is included for those enrolled in Max's workshop; all others $50 online or at the door. Since 1953, Max Ginsburg has exhibited extensively in public venues and galleries, and conducted many workshops both nationally and internationally. His paintings are a part of many museums and private collections. An influential teacher for decades at important institutions such as The Art Students League of New York, Ginsburg's many awards include the Living Legend Lifetime Achievement Award presented at the "American Masters" exhibition at the Salmagundi Club in NYC in 2018. A Special Holiday Event The OSA Monotype Party and Print Exhibit

Opening Reception and Monotype Sale: Saturday, December 1,  6 - 8pm

Forty invited artists will be working throughout the day, creating unique monotype prints. Artwork will be installed in the OSA Gallery, culminating in a reception and sale from 6 to 8pm All prints will be on sale for $200. Half of the proceeds will go to the artists and half will go to benefit OSA.
