OSA welcomes PPF for this joint exhibit. Expect to see photopraphs produced in a myraid of ways - from pinhole and toy cameras to large format view cameras. The work may be digital, traditional color, and black and white, silver, ink jet or platinum. Come experience photography as fine art!

This year's Annual 200 for Under $200 Art Show and Sale breaks the record with 125 participating artists from the Portland area and beyond. With, actually, over 200 12" x 12" panels priced at or below $200, you don't want to miss this exhibit! Join us at the opening reception for awards and prize drawings on November 1, 6-9pm. OSA Instructor Steve Kleier discusses how to plan a landscape painting effectively. While he will be doing the demo in watercolor, the techniques he will share apply to any medium. As one student shares, "I have learned much from Steve over the past five years about drawing, perspective, painting loose and using a limited palette."

Join Poca Kim as she discusses her unique artistic process of working with large scale collage and mixed media. A figurative oil painter, Kim was born and raised in South Korea where she loved to write poetry. Painting became her mode of artistic expression after she studied oil painting at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas

This will be a 3 day workshop focused on creating a Batik using watercolors on Enryu rice paper. 
Kristie will meet each student individually to help with their own photo (or they have the option of using one of the instructors) focusing on technique, composition and design.

This September OSA hosts the Fall Juried Show for members only. Steve Kleier is our Juror. Artwork must be original and not shown in previous shows at OSA, and may be any medium or style. Cradle boards accepted. Collage material must be the artist's original media on paper. Photography, digital art, and 3D art will not be accepted for this show.
$25 for one painting, $30 for two paintings; maximum two paintings per artist.

Thursday, Sept 5, 10am - 4pm
Friday, Sept 6, 10am - 1pm

Registered participants will create an art piece on a supplied cradle panel. All artwork will be displayed in the OSA gallery for a gala reception, exhibition, and sales extravaganza in November. Participants will be eligible to win cash, valuable prizes, and awards.

Join us for an informative study of painting portraits using oil paints presented by Elaine Evans. Breathing life into your portraits can be the difference between an "okay" painting, and a life-like portrait. Evans paints with oils, acrylics and watercolor. She loves the challenge and excels in painting portraits and developing realism.

WATERCOLOR BATIK ON RICE PAPER
