This workshop is designed for
beginning to intermediate students who desire an intensive pastel
experience both in the studio and en plein air. The first two days will
be in the studio working on important key points of pastel with given
exercises stressing composition, mark making, values, and color theory
plus a whole lot more. On the final day, weather permitting; we will
venture outdoors (TBD) to put into practice what you have learned in the
studio. Brenda will teach you how to be effective in the field,
simplifying pastel supplies, what to look for in the scene, and other
factors the plein air experience brings. Brenda has participated and
placed in several competitive plein air festivals on the west coast and
has been selected to be a Demonstrating Field Artist at the Plein Air Convention in Monterey, CA in April, 2013.
