Nicole Poole
Calligraphy & Hand Lettering: Drawn & Quartered
2nd THURSDAY DEMO    Feburary 9, 11 am
Doors open at 10am. Demo at 11am
Buffet Lunch at 12:15pm

In this demo Nicole Poole will show a variety of calligraphic lettering made with different nibs and explain the basic fundamentals of lettering and how an alphabet behaves. She will dissect an alphabet and simplify the strokes, drawing them out and explaining how this dissection can be replicated in many lettering styles, to understand any alphabet the world over. By simplifying letters into a few basic repeating strokes, an entire alphabet becomes accessible to the aspiring calligrapher.

Nicole Poole is a visual artist, calligrapher and maker of things. She is an awarded California Arts Scholar who enjoys studying, teaching and showing her work in the Northwest and along the Pacific Coast. She found her love of calligraphy at a young age and lettering often finds its way into her art and illustrations. She has written and made several books of stories that she illustrated and lettered by hand. Nicole can be found sharing her wealth of knowledge at Muse Art & Design where she is passionate about connecting fellow artists with the right products to make their work a success. "50 Shades of Red" Weather Bulletin

OSA Weather Bulletin

Update February Gallery Exhibit “ 50 Shades of Red “

      OSA is closed today due to ice storm. Classes and Gallery take-in are cancelled due to weather.  We expect improvement in the weather to allow OSA to be fully operational Saturday, Feb 4th.

      After consultation with Robin Becic, the OSA Gallery Director, we have made the following decisions :

          Take-in tomorrow Feb. 4 (Saturday) will proceed as planned
                             from 10:00am – 2:00 pm.
 
     Additional take-in opportunities are scheduled for :
                Friday, February 10th from 10:00am -1:00 pm
               Saturday, February 11th from 10:00 – 1:00pm

          The reception for “50 Shades of Red” is scheduled for
                     Sunday, February 12th from 1:00-3:00pm 

  Pick-up art February 23rd from 9:00am -4:00 pm.

We are very sorry for these disruptions and thank you for your continued patience.

Weather Update for 2-3-2017

WEATHER UPDATE: 

Due To Weather, OSA Cancels All Operations For Friday, February 3. Due to the possibility of ice and unsafe weather conditions, OSA will cancel all operations tomorrow February 3. We are expecting the weather to gradually warm up and for conditions to be much improved on Saturday.

We are planning for normal operations on Saturday and Sunday. 

The take in of art scheduled for Friday has been rescheduled to Saturday from 10 - 2pm. The reception for the "50 Shades of Red Exhibit" is expected to go on as planned on Sunday, February 5th 1 - 3pm.

We will keep you updated on the conditions and any changes on Friday.

WEATHER BULLETIN for 2-2-2017

The Ward Stroud Demo is on for this evening at 6:30 at OSA.
 
We will proceed with the Ward Stroud demo this evening, and send out a bulletin later this afternoon regarding operations at OSA for Friday.

The weather predictions for this evening are for cloudy/mostly cloudy conditions with 0% precipitation until Friday at 1am when freezing rain is expected to begin and continue through the night and morning hours.

 

We thank all of you for your patience, as we try to deal with difficult weather situations.
