2019 FALL JURIED ART SHOW September 8-23 Reception and Awards Ceremony: Sunday, September 8, 1 - 3pm Juror: Steve Kleier

This September OSA hosts the Fall Juried Show for members only. Steve Kleier is our Juror. Artwork must be original and not shown in previous shows at OSA, and may be any medium or style. Cradle boards accepted. Collage material must be the artist's original media on paper. Photography, digital art, and 3D art will not be accepted for this show. $25 for one painting, $30 for two paintings; maximum two paintings per artist.

Art Take-in: Thursday, Sept 5, 10am - 4pm Friday, Sept 6, 10am - 1pm

Come one, come all! OSA invites students, emerging, and established artists to participate in our popular annual 12" x 12" challenge. Registered participants will create an art piece on a supplied cradle panel. All artwork will be displayed in the OSA gallery for a gala reception, exhibition, and sales extravaganza in November. Participants will be eligible to win cash, valuable prizes, and awards.

LIFE-LIKE PORTRAITS With Elaine Evans September 5, 6:30 - 8pm | FREE

Join us for an informative study of painting portraits using oil paints presented by Elaine Evans. Breathing life into your portraits can be the difference between an "okay" painting, and a life-like portrait. Evans paints with oils, acrylics and watercolor. She loves the challenge and excels in painting portraits and developing realism.

THE BLUEGRASS SPECIAL Hosted by Steve Kleier September 6, 7 - 9pm | $20, includes materials

Get your country on with the bluegrass styling of Red Cedar Shakes. This good-time group plays traditional bluegrass instruments and songs. Charcoal, Newsprint, and wine proved - or, bring your own moonshine to share!

WATERCOLOR BATIK ON RICE PAPER with Kristie Mooney REGISTER NOW!  October 11-13, 2019 | 9:30am - 4pm please register at https://public.osartists.org/public/workshops

This will be a 3 day workshop focused on creating a Batik using watercolors on Enryu rice paper. The workshop will start with a slide presentation meant to inspire students to create their own Batik. The presentation will be followed with Kristie showing her process step-by-step. Kristie will meet each student individually to help with their own photo (or they have the option of using one of the instructors) with a great amount of help with technique, composition and design.

We will work out of the OSA studio and on the OSA grounds with an outing planned for late June-tba.. Contact Nancy for supply list.
