Meet your instructor: Greg Lewis

Whether it's a design commission or consultation, art lecture, painting workshop, creating custom furnishings, designing a book cover, art show judging – even leading a customized art tour – Greg Lewis is ready to work on your project. Greg is celebrating 45+ years of creating contemporary art and fine art decor for clients in architecture, interior design, publishing, art collections, liturgical and healing environments.

In addition to his art and design studio practice, Greg taught drawing, painting, and watercolor studios for over two decades at Concordia University-Portland and was co-founder of its Art & Culture Program. He led tours of London and Paris for art and culture studies in art and architecture.  Greg holds degrees in Commercial Art/Graphic Design and in Visual Communications Education. Second Thursday Daytime Demo | Thursday, May 9, 11am | FREE Christen Waddell:  Portrait Sculpture

This demo will focus on the form of the human head. Chris will give 2D artists the tools to enhance their skills by gaining a better understanding of the form in real space. Graphic 3D artists will also enhance their skills by gaining a better understanding of the figure and 3-dimensional form.

Chris Waddell has been sculpting the figure for more than 2 decades. Waddell taught Classical sculpture in NYC at the Grand Central Academy of Art, and is an associate of the ICAA. His figures and portraits appear in private collections around the world and in international spaces including the National Mall in Washington D.C., the Canada Sports Hall of Fame and many others. He received his MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

First Thursday Evening Demo | Thursday, May 2, 7pm | FREE Susan Kuznitsky:  Figure in the Landscape This demo will show how to use a watercolor under painting on sanded paper and layer hard and soft pastels to create a luminous and soft effect. The subject will be a figure in the lavender fields. Just in time for lavender season! Susan was classically trained at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and went on to study in New York. She has taught locally since moving to Northwest in 1990 and nationally for many years. She is a signature member of the the Northwest Pastel Society, and an honorary member and founder of the Chicago Pastel Painters.   First Friday DRINK & DRAW | Friday, May 3, 6:30-8:30pm | $20, includes materials Hosted by Randall Vemer:  Dutch Lighting with Charcoal What's better than friends, music, and wine?  Learning something new of course! Don't miss  OSA's premier Drink & Draw Night. Come  create a Dutch style painting in charcoal by ' painting in light.' Instructor Randall Vemer  will show you how to execute an 'eraser'  drawing of a Vermeer painting. $20 per person,  including materials.
