OSA is now Open!

We meet Again!

We still have a nice offering of online classes, but now in-person classes have begun!

In accordance with Oregon Healthy Authority Guidelines: class size will be limited to 10 and everyone will be expected to wear a mask, unless there is a medical reason not to.  Stations will be spaced at least 6’ apart and will be cleaned prior to each class. We look forward to seeing you!

OSA Instagram Contest

Join Our Instagram Contest! Post an image of the art you are working on in quarantine to #OSAatHome. We will periodically feature artists in our story and at the end of the competition, we will choose 3 winners. Join Allen Schmertzler, an award-winning artist and a retired educator of 34 years, who writes, publishes, exhibits, and ventures out of his studio to serve as  entertainment at events for corporate clients with his live caricaturing.

PORTLAND ART & LEARNING STUDIOS, an Albertina Kerr Program

AN EXHIBITION OF THE MARVELOUS ARTISTS OF PORTLAND ART & LEARNING STUDIOS, an Albertina Kerr Program February 13, 2020 Opening Reception: Thursday, Feb. 13, 10:30am - 1:30pm Join us for the 4th Annual exhibition of the marvelous artists of PALS (Portland Art & Learning Studios), an Albertina Kerr program supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to experience personal growth through the creative process. This exhibit is entitled “PUSH”, an apt title for a show with so much creative energy on display.  The show will feature 2-D paintings and drawings and, this year, 3-D ceramic work.  The artwork work will be for sale. We are expecting many of the artists to be present.  The support of these exhibits by OSA members is especially meaningful for these artists.

FREE ART DEMO! - OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

MONOTYPE DEMONSTRATION with Stephen Hayes January 31, 2020 | 11am - 12pm Free and open to the public This year’s featured master printmaker and demoing artist is Stephen Hayes. Hayes is an internationally known landscape artist and printmaker.  He has held over thirty-five solo exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad, and his works have been curated into nearly seventy group shows by a broad diversity of curatorial voices.   He is locally represented by Elizabeth Leach.
