OSA Volunteer Position Openings ( January 18, 2016 ) :
The OSA Board invites you to consider volunteering time in one or more of these slots that are available. Feel free, below, to indicate your interest in volunteering time in an effort outside those opportunities listed. Volunteers enjoy these activities and find reward in helping sustain the OSA in efforts to support developing artists.
1) Recording Secretary OSA Board. Board meetings are on the second Thursday each month from 1pm-3pm . Samples of recent board minutes are available from the staff office.
2) Development Committee—Work with Paul Papich , an experienced consultant in Strategic Planning and Donor Base development. Paul has volunteered to lead this effort for the OSA. Volunteers are needed to join with the board to support this effort.
3) Grant Development – Carol Stepick ,an OSA member , and experienced grant officer , has need for more volunteer support.
4) Gallery Exhibition Support – Volunteer help is needed to support the existing group in take –in , hanging , reception, and kitchen assistance for the 12 monthly OSA exhibits. Your help would be welcome even if you cannot commit to helping each month .
5) OSA gallery outreach ( Gallery Two activity )- Mary Holt and the Board have made our gallery available for approximately 5 days/month following each of our monthly exhibits for outreach gallery activity. In 2016 , exhibits are already scheduled for the Greyhoud Rescue Group Art Auction and with Albertina Kerr for their students in the Art from the Heart program to exhibit at OSA . Assistance is needed for take-in , hanging , receptions and outreach marketing for this expanding activity.
6) First Thursday Evening Demonstrations . Volunteer help is needed to help Jennifer Bliesner host and support the Artists giving these demonstrations.
7) Support for the Staff Office – Work in the staff office to support Nancy Fraser and Barbara McDonald. Seeking 4 volunteers.
8) Support OSA Lending Library – OSA is expanding its lending library effort . Volunteer help is needed to develop and help support this activity.
9) Marketing and Distribution of OSA News to the community and region . Considerable print and Social Media activity available. Volunteer help is needed to help with distribution , outreach and development of this material .
10) Hosting luncheons for the daytime demonstrations on the second Thursday each month; helping with food service and cleanup for these potluck luncheons.
11) Calendar coordinator . There are s separate calendars for classes , demonstrations and workshops that need to be coordinated . You would work with Michael Musto , Anji Grainger, and Nancy and Barbara in the staff office.
12) Lastly , the OSA would appreciate hearing of your interest to work in other areas of OSA activity not listed above.
